– The Department of Education 11 has ordered all Schools Division Superintendents and Private School Owners in Davao Region to conduct inspections of their structures.
DepEd 11 spokesperson Jenielito Atillo said in a phone interview, all structures must be checked along with the structural engineers to ensure its integrity and for the safety of the students and teachers. He said all public schools must coordinate with their local engineering offices or with the Department of Public Works and Highways for the conduct of inspection.
Meanwhile, Davao City Acting Mayor Sebastian Duterte already released a proclamation to cancel classes in all levels due to the 6.9-magnitude earthquake.
